My Opinion
,I believe that his severe pain in the neck, shoulder, and arm is not caused by the C7 nerve. If it were C7 nerve pain, I wouldn’t be able to relieve it immediately by pressing just one point.
,He told me that he had sent an MRI report for C7, but I couldn’t find it in our email. However, there was a lumbar MRI showing a large cyst, and the surgeon suggested surgery.
,Based on his pain characteristics and my examination, I confirmed that it is nerve pain. When I pressed the specific point on his neck, the pain radiated to his neck, shoulder blade, and the areas of his arm where he usually feels severe pain.
,According to my examination and the response to pressure, I believe it is Scalene Syndrome.
,Why do I think it’s not the C7 nerve? Because the pain covers a large area, which cannot be explained by a single nerve root issue.
,I appreciate his trust—he drove five hours to see me, and the results proved that the long journey was worthwhile.
